Reps today have discovered that dialing a prospect from an area code that is local to them increases the chances that they will pick up your phone call, and it will not be marked as Spam. Use Groove's Local Dial feature to make calls from a phone number that contains the same area code you're calling into, increasing your call connection rate!
Toggle the Local Dial button on before placing your call
Your Groove Admin purchases every Local Dial number used. In some cases, your organization might have one Local number per area.
Once the call is placed, the recipient will see your Caller ID appear with the same area code as the recipient's phone number. For example, If you are calling someone who lives in San Francisco and has a 415 number, and you turn Local Dial on, your Caller ID will also appear as a 415 number!
In some fascinating cases, your prospect may call you back. The prospect's inbound call will be routed to the last Groove user to call that specific prospect using that specific Local Dial number.
Example 1: Mary called a prospect, Daniel, who lives in New York City, and she used a Local Number with a 917 area code. Later, another rep from Mary's org, Stewart, uses the SAME local number to call another prospect, Claire. Now, the first prospect, Daniel, wants to call Mary back on the same number she used to call him. The call will now be directed to Mary since she was the last person to call Daniel using that 917 number.
Example 2: Mary called a prospect, Daniel, who lives in New York City, and she used a Local Number with a 917 area code. Another Rep from Mary's org, Stewart, wanted to call Daniel. He used the same 917 area code number. Daniel wants to call them back on the same number they used to call him. The call will be directed to Stewart since he was the last person to call Daniel using that 917 number.
US/Canada Local Dial vs International Local Dial (Beta)
The caller ID that appears when you make a call is contingent upon the geographic location of your recipient, whether in the US/Canada or Internationally. If you are calling someone in the US/Canada, the local number displayed on your caller ID will correspond to the area code of your contact. If you're calling someone outside the US/Canada in an international location, your caller ID will reflect a local number that aligns with your contact's country code.
Sometimes, your Groove Admin has not purchased a local dial number in your calling location. In that case, you will be notified with the following message:
