Salesloft’s iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) integrations connect third-party data systems directly to Salesloft. This means you can sync data straight to Person and Account, and Opportunity records in Salesloft without having to route it through your CRM first.
iPaaS integrations use third-party automation providers to streamline the data transfer process. Salesloft supports the following iPaaS providers:
For a full list of supported providers, check out our developer portal.
By setting up an iPaaS integration, you can bring external data into Salesloft with greater control and flexibility.
In this article, you will learn how to manage Salesloft’s iPaaS integrations as a system administrator, including:
To set up and manage an iPaaS integration, a Salesloft system administrator must configure the integration through one of the iPaaS provider's systems (Tray.ai, Workato, or Zapier). The system admin will connect Salesloft to the chosen iPaaS provider, ensuring that the correct data transfer pathways are established. This connection allows the iPaaS provider to act on behalf of an authenticated user.
Admin Role Permissions:
Once the iPaaS provider is connected, Admins can complete the remaining setup steps directly in Salesloft. To complete the remaining setup steps, you must have the following permissions enabled:
Things to Note:
- iPaaS templates currently support only Account objects.
- Support for Person-based updates is in development.
This permission is automatically enabled for standard Salesloft admin roles.
Once this permission is enabled, you can proceed with completing the iPaaS integration setup within Salesloft.
You can configure an iPaaS integration through various providers, including:

iPaaS Configuration takes place
To configure an iPaaS integration, follow these steps:
- Identify a Data Attribute: Before configuring your iPaaS integration, determine which data attribute from your third-party system should act as a signal in Salesloft—for example, a status change, engagement indicator, or usage metric.
- Create a custom field: Go to the Salesloft Field Configuration page in Settings and create a custom field that matches your external data attribute. You can create custom fields for the following object types:
- Connect your iPaas Provider to Salesloft: Select a supported iPaaS provider from the list below to establish the connection between the provider and Salesloft.
- Tray.ai
- Workato
- Zapier
- Things to Note:
- You can use our prebuilt templates as a framework for setting up iPaaS.
- Check out our developer portal for a full list of supported iPaaS providers.
- Connect your data source to your iPaaS provider: Follow your iPaaS provider’s instructions to authenticate the connection with your external data source (e.g., Databricks). You may need to coordinate with the application owner or system administrator to complete this step.
- Find and update the matching Salesloft record: Use the CRM_ID identifier to find and update the matching record in Salesloft.
- (optional) Upsert the record: If you are using CRM_ID as your identifier, you can upsert the Account record to include the custom fields, tags, or other corresponding data points on the record.
- Create a Salesloft Play: Return to Salesloft and configure a Play to trigger when data changes on the specified field. Create one of the following:
- Account Created play
- Account Updated play
- Opportunity Created play
- Opportunity Updated play
- Person Created play (coming soon)
- Person Updated play (coming soon)
Ensure field permissions are set to "Read & Edit" to allow the iPaaS integration to make updates.

Once the iPaaS integration is set up and configured, here are the recommended next steps:
- Roll Out to the Team: Once the integration is complete, ensure they understand how the new data triggers work and how they can leverage them in their day-to-day workflow.
- Track Performance: Use the Plays Analytics (Plays tab) to monitor how well your Plays are performing.
- Provide Training and Support: Educate your sellers on how to use the newly integrated data in their Plays and ensure they have the support they need to work with external data. This might include ongoing training or a help guide for using new features.
- Continue Refining Plays: As you get more data into Salesloft, refine your Plays based on the buyer signals you're seeing. Continuous iteration will help improve the performance of your sales processes.
