Before starting, make sure you have the following:
- Chrome Extension installed: The Salesloft Chrome Extension must be installed and up to date. See Download the Salesloft Chrome Extension if you haven't installed it yet.
- Feature enabled: Your admin must have Ask Salesloft enabled for your organization. If you don't see the Ask Salesloft card in your Chrome Extension sidepanel, contact your admin.
- Open the Chrome Extension sidepanel: Navigate to a contact or account record in your browser and open the Salesloft Chrome Extension sidepanel.
- Navigate to the Overview tab: Click the Overview tab inside the sidepanel. The Ask Salesloft card appears at the top of the Overview tab automatically.
- Things to Note: If you don't see the Ask Salesloft card, confirm with your admin that the feature is enabled for your organization.
- Review the signal badge panel: At the top of the Ask Salesloft card, review the aggregated signal badge panel. It surfaces a natural-language summary of outstanding items for the contact or account — for example, active cadences, open tasks, inbound emails, and pending voicemails.
- Things to Note: Badge tokens only appear when there is relevant activity for that signal type. If a badge is not visible, there is no current activity of that type for the record.
- Click a badge to navigate to that item: Click any highlighted badge token — such as Cadence, Task, Email, or Voicemail — to navigate directly to that item in its corresponding data tab.
- Type a question: Click the Ask anything input field and type a natural language question about the contact or account. Examples:
- "Draft a reply addressing the voicemail."
- "What are the outstanding action items from this account?"
- "Summarize the key objections raised so far."
- Submit your question: Press Enter or click the send button. Ask Salesloft generates a response grounded in your verified Salesloft interaction history for that record.
- Things to Note: Ask Salesloft only surfaces information from your verified Salesloft interaction history for the current record. If you ask about data outside that scope — such as CRM opportunity fields or external documents — you will receive a standard fallback response rather than a generated answer.
- Review the response: Read the generated response inline in the sidepanel. If the response includes a draft email, the extension's native email compose window opens automatically, pre-populated with the draft content including the buyer's address and subject line.
- Ask follow-up questions: Continue the conversation by typing additional questions in the Ask anything field. Each response remains grounded in verified interaction data for the current record.
You've successfully used Ask Salesloft in the Chrome Extension when:
- The signal badge panel displays a natural-language summary of outstanding activity for the contact or account.
- A response generates inline in the sidepanel after submitting your question.
- If your question included a request to draft an email, the email compose window opens automatically and is pre-populated with the draft content.
- Grounded in verified data only: Every Ask Salesloft response is grounded exclusively in your verified Salesloft interaction history for the current record. Responses outside that scope return a standard fallback statement — Ask Salesloft will never fabricate information.
- Works on both Person and Account records: Ask Salesloft is available in the Chrome Extension sidepanel on both contact (Person) and company (Account) record views.
- Session-based conversations: Ask Salesloft conversations are active for the duration of your current sidepanel session. Chat history does not persist after you close or navigate away from the sidepanel.
- Avoid: Expecting Ask Salesloft to pull in CRM opportunity fields, external documents, or data from outside your Salesloft interaction history — those data sources are outside its scope. For broader account research, use Ask Salesloft in the main Salesloft web app.
