Historical View Widget
Note from the Clari Customer Success Team: This feature is in early access. If you would like to learn more, please reach out to your customer success manager.
Overview
The Historical View Widgets are an easy way to examine the total value generated within a particular View. The Historical View Widget offers a rolling view of how specific deals are progressing towards a target.
This will help you understand trends in your View, and quickly determine how much pipeline or revenue potential is generated by your team.
Pinning a Historical View Widget
You can pin a Historical View Widget to your dashboard directly from the Dashboard module.
1. Create a Historical View Widget by clicking Add Widget under Actions.

2. Choose a Saved View from the Opportunities Module as your data source.

3. Review your Historical View Widget.

Plotting the Data
The Historical View Widget will aggregate in the following ways.
-
Amount, Currency, and Number Fields: These aggregate the y-axis and what is being summed across the records.
-
Scope: Operates as a filter to only include deals that are part of your selected scope.
- Filters: Exclude records from the widget that don’t meet the filter criteria.

Note: These will depend on the filters and mode relevant to the Saved View your Historical View Widget is based on. The Historical View Widget uses Saved Views from the Opportunities Module.
Widget Configurations
Customize the Historical View Widget to best meet your needs.
Note: Only one goal at a time can be applied to a single widget. As you change the scope on a dashboard, this will not dynamically change the goal, and the goal that was manually inputted will still appear.

Showing Historical Trends
As soon as you create a Historical View Widget, data is plotted back to fill the date range you selected.

FAQs
I pinned a Historical View Widget and it looks empty.
This can happen if you create a Historical View Widget based on a Saved View that looks at opportunities created This Week. When you create a widget for this Saved View, you will only see a single data point.
In other words, “This Week” will be translated based on how fiscal periods are defined for your organization.
If today is June 8, 2022 "This Week" is defined as June 6-11. If there is historical data for June 6-7 a maximum of 3 data points would appear in the chart (June 6, 7, 8). However, if there is only data for June 8th only a single data point will appear.
Note on Views with Unbounded Queries
There is a known performance problem when creating a widget based on a view where there is no date filter (close date, created date, etc…) and the widget is likely to timeout.
It is advised to have some date-based constraints within the Saved View being pinned as a Rolling View Widget.
