How does the Clari Role affect Forecast?
Your Clari Role (ex: Sales Rep, Manager, Exec, etc.) determines how your quota and closed amounts are calculated. Specifically, the filters that calculate the closed amount are affected by a user's Clari Role.
Manager
If Rebecca is a manager user, then Rebecca's CLOSED amount is the total amount closed by the reps that roll up to her — James and Michael.
Sales Rep
James is a Sales Rep user. So, James' CLOSED amount is he total amount he's closed (or the total amount of the deals closed that are owned by him).
Clari Roles align with your organization's Salesforce Role Hierarchy. Check out this chart of Clari Filters by Clari Role:
| Clari Role | Filter |
| Sales Rep | Owner filter is set to “Owned by Me” |
| Manager | Owner filter is set to “My Reports” |
| Exec | Owner filter is set to “My Reports” |
| Sales Ops | Sales Ops users are typically opted into Forecast as Viewers, so their filter would be applied based on the user who is actually forecasting. |

If you notice that a user appears to have the wrong visibility into the hierarchy in Forecast (i.e. a Sales Rep user can view their peers' forecast), then there is likely an issue with their Forecast Opt-In settings (i.e. the Sales Rep is set to a Forecast Manager instead of an Individual Contributor).
