Mutual Business Objectives
Overview
Mutual Business Objectives act as a central place to quickly convey a mutual understanding of a buyer’s pains and initiatives and get new stakeholders quickly up to speed on what problems are being addressed and the goals of the partnership.
Align Admins can set up objectives with default content to guide their reps in building their objectives for their workspace.
Use Cases
1. Work with that customer’s key stakeholder(s) to define core objectives before starting (and potentially during) the Mutual Action Plan (MAP) timeline.
2. Define deal criteria, and ensure that information is accessible in/associated with the MAP, so the data is right where you need it.
3. Centralize your work so you and your customers can access it easily and avoid duplicating your efforts.
Configure Objectives
Create Objectives in Org Settings
Mutual Business Objectives are created by Admins in Align’s Org Settings.
To access Org Settings, use this link.
Add new Objective in Org Settings > Objectives:

Update the Objective title and save. Text format is up to 131k characters with multi-line breaks.
Add Objective to MAP template
Admins will insert the available Objectives to MAP templates.
To edit an existing MAP Template, use this link.
1. Navigate to the Objectives Tab
2. Add Objective
3. Add your content and save.
How do Objectives work in a MAP?
Once Objectives are created in Org Settings and either added to a MAP template or added directly to a MAP, Objectives will be available to use in MAPs.
Use the Objectives tab
in the MAP to view MBOs.
MBO Visibility
MBOs will now be available to add, edit, reorder, or remove.

You can hide MBOs from the buying team if your team wishes MBOs to remain private for only the selling team to use. By default, Objectives will not be visible to other teams outside your organization and will be hidden when using presentation mode.
