The Salesloft Connect Dialer provides a seamless way to make and receive calls directly within your Chrome browser.
The Salesloft Connect Dialer can be used outside the Salesloft application, anywhere within your Chrome browser when you've downloaded the Salesloft Connect Chrome Extension.
The ability to make and receive calls within Chrome enhances productivity by eliminating the need to switch between applications. This ensures you never miss important calls and can efficiently manage your communication.
In this article, you will learn how to make and receive calls using the Salesloft Connect Dialer. This article includes:
- You must have a Salesloft account with the Salesloft Dialer configured. The Dialer requires admin configuration and user setup.
- Ensure you download, install, and log into the Salesloft Chrome Extension.
- Verify your audio devices (microphone and speakers) are properly configured.
- With version 1.6.5 of the Salesloft Connect Chrome Ext, you will be able to receive phone calls without needing the window needing to be open.
- The first version of the Chrome Extension opened the Dialer within your browser.
- Salesloft Connect V2 opened the Dialer in its own pop-up window and the window needs to be opened in order to receive call notifications and inbound calls.
- Pop-up blockers and "Do Not Disturb" settings can interfere with notifications.
Calls from the Salesloft Connect Dialer will operate the exact same way as the in-app Salesloft Dialer. The only real difference is how you access the Dialer to begin your call.
To make Calls with the Salesloft Connect Dialer, follow these steps:
- Open the Dialer Window: There are several ways to open the Dialer window:
- Action Pop-Up: Pin the extension so it stays visible in your Chrome Browser window. From the pinned section, click the Salesloft Chrome Extension icon. Select Open Dialer from the pop-up menu.

- Hit "Call": The Call button will begin your call.
- Make Calls Using the Salesloft Dialer: During the call you can add any notes inside the Dialer Log box. When the Person answers, you can have a conversation. If not, drop a voicemail or simply hang up.
- Log the Call: Log the call saves all of your call data and notes to the call log.
- If you start a new call but forgot to log your previous call, you can click Go back to log call from the prompt above the dialer. If you don’t want to log your previous call, close the notification or click Call to continue.
The same dialing workflow applies when working inside Gmail. To open the Dialer from Gmail, use either of the following options:
- Click a Person's phone number in the Side Panel profile information.
- Right-click anywhere on the page, or highlight a phone number and right-click, to select Salesloft Dial.
Once the Dialer is open, proceed with your call as you would from any other location.
The Salesloft Dialer has the ability to Accept or Reject inbound calls from inside the Dialer window, the pinned Chrome Action Pop-up and the Chrome itself. While Inbound calls still leverage a Chrome Notification when calls come in, pop up blockers and "Do Not Disturb" notifications can prevent these notifications from reaching your screen – and prevent you from receiving important calls.

Set Notification & Inbound Call Status from the Dialer Pop-Out
The Salesloft Dialer action pop up and pop-out allows you to set and update your inbound call notification call status. Both windows show three notification & inbound call status options:
- Ready to accept: This status allows you to receive inbound call notifications and hear the inbound call ring.
- Silent mode: This status allows you to receive inbound call notifications, but silences the inbound call ring.
- Do not disturb: This status disables inbound call notifications and silences the inbound call ring.
Things to Note: These Dialer pop-out statuses work in addition to the Inbound Call Notifications.
Avoid using Full Screen mode on your MacOS device when using Dialer
MacOS currently uses a functionality called Spaces which separates windows into individual screens. For this reason it's not recommended to use the Full Screen Mode in MacOS when using Dialer.
Add New People With the Salesloft Dialer
Before logging, you have to add the person. The Dialer gives you the flexibility to enter any phone number, find an existing person, or create a new one to call.

Automatically Match a Phone Number to the Salesloft Person
The Dialer is meant for immediate action. So when you call someone who has already been imported into Salesloft, the Dialer pulls up that Person's call record. This means you can seamlessly communicate and log a call to your contact without having to search for their record.
Whether you dial their number, copy and paste the number, or right-click to dial their number, Salesloft searches your database and links the phone number to existing people.
What if more than one prospect shares the number? Salesloft will select the best option available. If we choose the wrong person, you can select the correct person from the Person search bar options.
Log a Previously Completed Call
While working through a series of phone calls, it's simple to hang up with one person and quickly move on to your next call without logging the first call's valuable information.
Salesloft has you covered if you ever forget to log a call. If you start a new call but forgot to log your previous call, you can click Go back to log call from the prompt above the dialer. If you don’t want to log your previous call, close the notification or click Call to continue.
