Data Differences in Pulse, Trend, and Flow
Overview
Sometimes the numbers in Pulse, Trend, and Flow may not seem like they add up or match. In most cases, the differences are due to nuances in how the analytics work. We've outlined some common scenarios below to help explain what may be going on in these situations.
The number for last quarter closed in Trend doesn't match the numbers in Pulse.
This is likely because you've unchecked one of the pipeline categories in the table in Trend. Unchecking a category in Trend will also exclude deals that were in that category in the same time previous quarters from the closed number. So if $1M was won from deals that were in Omitted same time last quarter, then unchecking the Omitted category in Trend will reduce the Last Quarter won number by $1M. Unchecking a category in Pulse does not have the same affect on the closed number.

The number for current quarter closed in Trend or Pulse doesn't match the current quarter closed in Flow.
Make sure that you've selected the Flow analysis period to start at the beginning of the quarter and end on the current date and that you've selected the right closed date range. Once you've done that, if the numbers still don't match, make sure you have all pipeline categories selected in Flow. Flow will only show the closed deals from deals included in categories shown on the left. So if $1M was won this quarter from deals that were in Best Case at the start of the quarter, hiding the Best Case bucket will reduce the closed won number by $1M.

The number for last quarter closed in Trend or Pulse doesn't match the last quarter closed in Flow.
These numbers will not always necessarily tie out. Sometimes deals are closed after the quarter end. In order to show the most accurate view of the state of previous quarters, Trend and Pulse include those deals in the final Closed number. What this means is that if a deal was closed after the quarter end, that number will dynamically adjust. This is not the case in Flow.
In Flow, if a deal was not closed by the quarter end it will be included in either the Idle, Upgraded, or Downgraded buckets on the right-hand side. In other words, the numbers for last quarter in Flow are frozen, they will never update once the day is passed. Pulse and Trend however can have the Closed number specifically updated if deals are closed after the quarter end.
The Start pipeline in Flow doesn't match the pipeline on a given week in Pulse.
Flow shows deals as they were at 12:01AM on Start and where they ended up by 11:59PM on End. The pipeline number for a week in Pulse shows the number as of 11:59PM on the last day of the week. So if the week ended on Oct 29 in Pulse, and you'd like to make the pipeline numbers match what you see in Flow, the Start date for the analysis range in Flow will have to be Oct 30.
The projection in Pulse doesn't match the projection in Trend.
The projection should always match, so what’s likely happening is you have a setting mis-match.
Check #1: Make sure the breakdown field is the same in Trend and Pulse.

Check #3: Make sure you’ve checked all of the pipeline categories in Trend.
Check #4: Make sure you’re selecting the same node in the hierarchy.
