🎬 Pulse Overview
Overview
When you’re trying to get a pulse on your business, you need to be able to answer some fundamental questions:
- How are we tracking against our linearity targets?
- How has our pipeline evolved?
- What number are we Forecast?
- Are we tracking towards our close plan?
- Are we building enough pipeline (and the right pipeline mix) to set ourselves up for success?
With Clari Pulse you can now instantly answer those questions for any team, individual contributor, or business segment in real-time. Pulse acts as the EKG of your business, providing real-time, single-view access to the health of the quarter. With Pulse, you can easily monitor key performance indicators, identify risk, understand what's driving change, and course-correct to hit your number.
This article is a general overview of the Pulse module. To learn more about Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly Pulse, check out these articles:
Note: Data might be different in Analyze visuals (Pulse, Waterfall, Funnel, Flow, Trend) versus data you see when you drill down into the Opportunities Module. This usually happens because in the Opportunities Module, Clari queries Salesforce and gets live data, but in Analyze, data refreshes every 15 minutes.
Pulse Module Navigation
Pulse will display your pipeline (broken down by forecast category or stage depending on your configuration) day-by-day, week-by-week, or month-by-month depending on if you are looking at a Month, a Quarter, or a Year in Pulse. Hover over any segment in the bars to get a snapshot of the amount in that category for that day, week, or month.
- Monthly View = day-by-day pipeline snapshots
- Quarterly View = week-by-week pipeline snapshots
- Yearly View = month-by-month pipeline snapshots
In this example, we're looking at a current quarter view of Pulse, so we can see a snapshot of our pipeline week-over-week for the current quarter.

a. Date Range Drop-down: You can choose Month, Quarter, or Year View to view this quarter/month/year, next quarter/month/year, or any of the quarters/months/years over the past year.
b. Scope, Filters, and Chart Settings: Select the level in the hierarchy you want to see, and the amount field, breakdown field, forecast tab, date field, and other filters you want to use.
c. KPIs: Key metrics to provide context on the details in the Chart. These will update dynamically based on how you configure Pulse (see details in each section below).
d. Chart: Review your pipeline day-by-day, week-by-week, or month-by-month (broken down by forecast category or stage depending on your configuration). You can also overlay the dotted purple pacing line to track linearity, the AI Projection, and individual and team forecast calls to monitor forecast accuracy.
e. Chart View/Grid View Toggle: Toggle between Chart View to view the graphic and Grid View to view the corresponding data table.
f. Actions Drop-down: Export the data from the Chart in Pulse. For more information on this export, review our article on the Pulse Export.
Configuring your Pulse Chart

Data Checklist (Chart View): select the elements that you want to view in your Chart. You can include or exclude any combination of the Clari Insights, Forecast calls, or Opportunities (broken down by forecast category or stage depending on your configuration).
"How does Clari calculate your close plan?"
Clari’s AI looks at past revenue performance across several calculation periods (quarters, months, etc) and gives a projection of how much it thinks your team will be able to close in the current period, given their current pipeline and their historical performance. Clari also considers the total amount closed to date.
Pulse Grid
Table (Grid View): Review the numbers corresponding to the data in the Chart. You can also include or exclude any combination of the Clari Insights, Forecast calls, or Opportunities from Chart View using the checklist in Table View.

Pulse Pacing
If you have a quota defined in the Forecast tab you are reviewing in Pulse, you will have the option to toggle on Clari's Pacing Line. This overlay will give you an idea of how you are doing in terms of linearity. By default, this line will be configured to guide sellers to close:
- 25% of quota by week 5
- 50% of quota by week 9
- 100% of quota by week 13 (EOQ)
