Why does Clari want access to my Google Account? Can Clari read/edit/delete emails?

When connecting to Gmail via Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) there are only 2 primary permissions that an app can request from Google:
 

Viewing your basic profile information only provides identity information about the user (your name, email address, etc.) but doesn't provide access to email metadata.

 

Full account access is what Clari uses to index email metadata (i.e. email subject, time sent, senders, and recipients). This information is critical to delivering activity insights that help sales teams better manage their pipeline. In compliance with our security assertions and ISO-27001, we don't access or use any information beyond the metadata. However, because Google only has 2 different levels of access, we need to be granted full account access to provide activity insights.
