Google Workspace Clari App Overview
Overview
As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the security of Clari and its integrations, we have developed a new Google Workspace Marketplace app that will facilitate the Clari-Gmail integration.
Current Gmail Integration
Currently, the Clari-Gmail integration works via 2 methods.
Method 1: Team Linking
With Team Linking, Clari connects directly with a dedicated Google Service Account. This is our recommended method of connecting to Gmail as it streamlines the process for sales reps (and other users who connect their activity to Clari, like SEs) and automatically connects all users at your organization at once. At this time, however, Team Linking requires domain-wide delegation in order to connect — so all users will have their email/calendar connected, although users who choose not to show their activity will not see their email, meeting, or file activities in Clari.
Method 2: Individual Linking
With Individual Linking, each Clari user connects their own Gmail account (email and calendar) to Clari. Every time a user’s login token expires or their password changes, they must re-authenticate this connection.
Google Workplace App Integration
With the new Clari Workspace App, Admins can offer the benefits of Team Linking and have more granular control over which users Clari connects to and indexes activity data from. The Clari app will leverage Google Workplace Organizational Units to limit the scope of the integration. You can install and enable the Clari App for only the users whose Gmail account you want to connect while retaining the benefit of maintaining connections that do not expire due to credentials (i.e. password) changing.

FAQ
| Question | Answer |
| Does the new Workspace App change how Clari indexes inboxes and calendars? | No. Transitioning to the Workspace App only changes how Clari connects with Gmail, not how we index the activity data once connected. |
| Does this change how Individual Linking works? |
No. The Google Workspace Clari App does not affect how Individual Linking works.
However, we strongly encourage you to use the Google Workspace App to connect — you will be able to limit the scope of users connected without having to worry about individual users needing to re-authenticate their email/calendar connection periodically.

| Do we have to create a new Gmail service account if we are using Team Linking? | No. With the Google Workspace App, you will no longer need a Gmail service account to link to in order to index data. |
