Basic Filters Vs. Advanced Filters
Basic Filters
To understand advanced filters, it's helpful to begin by understanding basic filters. Basic filters allow users to run basic "and" or "not" queries in their Views. For example, you can easily find all opportunities that are open with a Close Date in the current quarter:

You can also run "not" queries using the Exclude Toggle (green), and combine "and" and "not" queries:

Advanced Filters
Advanced Filters let you create more complex filter combinations — running queries with and, or, not, or like.
How to Use Advanced Filters
To begin using advanced filters in a View, click the menu (...) in the top right of Opportunities Grid, then click Modify View. The filter section contains the current filters applied to whatever View you're on.
This is a great place create your advanced filters. In fact, if you have questions about syntax formatting or specific filters, you can first add basic filter(s) using the filter(s) that you would like to use, and then toggle advanced filters on and see how it's formatted.
Saved Views with Advanced Filters
When a user selects a Saved View with advanced filters, they will see the advanced filter logic and description that was entered for the Saved View instead of the filter summary that they would normally see for a Saved View with basic filters.

FAQs
I toggled back to basic filter mode, and now my advanced filters are gone. Where did they go?
Going from basic filters to advanced filters will populate the basic filters in the filter section, but switching from advanced filters to basic filters will revert your View back to the default filters because advanced filters cannot be expressed in basic filter form.
Why can't I save my View with advanced filters?
There are a couple of reasons this might be happening:
1. You must enter a description to create a Saved View with advanced filters.
2. You cannot create a Saved View with advanced filters if the filters can be built with basic filters.
Can I share Views with advanced filters?
Yes. Saved Views with advanced filters can be shared in the same way as Saved Views with basic filters.
