Getting AI-Powered Deal Recommendations
AI Agents analyze your deals daily and surface insights about what needs attention. Instead of manually tracking qualification criteria, you receive automated recommendations on where to focus your efforts.
How AI Agents Help You Close Deals
The Deal Inspection Agent reviews every opportunity in your pipeline that your organization targets. The agent checks whether deals meet qualification requirements for their current stage and identifies gaps that might slow progression.
Your RevOps team configures what the agent looks for. Configuration reflects your company's sales methodology and the specific criteria expected at each stage. The agent applies these standards consistently across all deals.
Agent insights appear on your Guide homepage and in Inspect: Opportunity views. Both locations show the same information, so you can review recommendations wherever you prefer to work.
The agent runs automatically once per day at 11:00 AM CET. Results update each morning, giving you a fresh view of deal health as you start your day.
Viewing Deal Health on Guide Homepage
Your Guide homepage displays agent insights for opportunities in your pipeline. You see which deals have critical gaps and what criteria are met or unmet.
Each deal shows a health status based on how many requirements it satisfies. Deals meeting most criteria appear healthier than deals with multiple gaps. This quick visual scan helps you prioritize which opportunities need immediate work.
Click any opportunity to see detailed analysis. The agent explains what's working well and what needs attention, organized by category.
Categories reflect your sales methodology. For example, if your organization uses MEDPICC, you might see categories like Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Identify Pain, and Champion. If your organization uses a custom framework, categories match that structure instead.
Understanding Agent Recommendations in Inspect: Opportunity
Inspect: Opportunity provides comprehensive deal analysis when you click the AI icon next to any opportunity.
The modal shows three sections: critical findings, criteria status, and agent insight summary.
- Critical findings list the most important gaps or risks. The agent prioritizes these based on impact to deal progression. Review critical findings first to understand what might block your deal.
- Criteria status shows every requirement for your current deal stage. Each criterion has a status: met, unmet, or partially met. Expand any criterion to see why the agent marked it that way and what evidence supports the assessment.
- Agent insight summary gives you an overall health assessment in plain language. This summary synthesizes all findings into an actionable overview you can quickly digest.
Stage-Specific Requirements
Agent insights change as your deal moves through the pipeline. Each stage has different criteria based on what should happen at that point in your sales process.
Early stages might focus on qualifying pain and budget. Later stages might focus on technical validation and legal terms. The agent only evaluates criteria relevant to your current stage, keeping recommendations focused on what matters now.
If you're unsure why the agent expects specific criteria, ask your manager. They can explain how requirements map to your sales process and what you need to demonstrate before advancing deals.
How the Agent Determines Status
The agent cites evidence for every insight. This helps you understand where recommendations come from and gives you confidence in the analysis.
When the agent marks a criterion as met, it references supporting data. For example, if champion identified shows complete, the agent might link to a call transcript discussing your champion or a CRM contact tagged with champion status.
When the agent flags an unmet criterion, it explains what's missing. For example, if next steps unclear appears as an issue, the agent might note no upcoming activities scheduled or vague close plan in recent notes.
Click source citations to review underlying data. This is useful when you disagree with an assessment or need to verify findings before taking action.
The agent analyzes both CRM data and activity data. CRM data includes fields like close date, stage, and amount. Activity data includes call transcripts and emails. If your organization doesn't use Copilot, the agent analyzes CRM fields alone and still provides useful insights.
Acting on Agent Recommendations
Agent insights highlight where deals need work. Focus on unmet criteria that typically block progression or cause slippage.
If the agent shows economic buyer not engaged, schedule time with executive stakeholders. If decision criteria undefined appears, ask your champion what the evaluation process looks like and how the decision will be made.
Some recommendations are easier to address than others. Low-hanging fruit like updating CRM fields or scheduling next steps can be done immediately. Harder issues like missing executive relationships might require creative problem-solving.
When you disagree with agent findings, talk to your manager. The agent might lack context you have. For example, the agent might flag no recent activity, but you had an in-person meeting yesterday that isn't logged yet. Your manager can help assess whether the finding is valid or needs adjustment.
Use agent insights to prepare for coaching conversations. Review findings before one-on-ones so you can discuss specific gaps with your manager and develop action plans.
Agent analysis improves when your CRM data stays current. If fields like close date, stage, or key contacts are outdated, the agent works with incomplete information and recommendations become less accurate.
Update CRM records after meaningful conversations or milestones. Log calls and emails when possible so the agent has activity data to reference. The more complete your deal documentation, the better the agent understands your situation.
If the agent consistently flags criteria you believe are met, check whether supporting evidence exists in Clari. The agent can only work with data it can access. Missing documentation might be the issue, not the actual deal health.
What the Agent Doesn't Do
The agent has the following limitations:
- Daily updates only: The agent runs once per day, not in real time. If you have a breakthrough conversation at 2pm, the agent won't reflect that until the next morning. Don't wait for agent insights to update before acting on new information.
- No outcome predictions: The agent identifies current gaps but doesn't predict whether your deal will close or slip. It won't say "deals like this close 70% of the time" or "adding these activities improves win rates." The agent describes current state, not likely future outcomes.
- No specific action suggestions: The agent tells you what's missing but doesn't prescribe exactly what to do. For example, it might say economic buyer not identified but won't tell you to call the CFO on Thursday at 2pm. You still own figuring out how to address gaps.
- No notifications outside Clari: Agent insights only appear in Clari views. You won't receive Slack messages, emails, or calendar reminders about critical findings. Check Guide or Inspect regularly to see updated analysis.
- CRM doesn't sync insights: Agent findings don't appear in Salesforce or your CRM. If you work primarily in your CRM, you need to check Clari separately to see agent recommendations.
- Single deal focus: The agent evaluates your opportunities individually. It won't tell you which three deals deserve the most attention this week based on revenue and risk. You still prioritize which deals to work on first.
Privacy and Access
You only see agent insights for your own opportunities. The agent respects standard access controls, so you never see analysis for deals belonging to other reps outside your visibility.
If your manager can see your deals through saved views, they see the same agent insights you do. This creates transparency in coaching conversations since you're both looking at identical information.
