When would I use multiple Groups? How do I add multiple Groups?
Using multiple Groups to organize deals in your grid can give you better insight. Think of it like adding variables to a chart. Something like, "Show me the deals that I own (Group 1) in my territory (Group 2)."
Adding Multiple Groups
Let's sort all of our deals by Owner (Group 1) and then, by Forecast (Group 2). This will help us see how well each individual rep is forecasted to perform this quarter.
While in Opportunities:
1. On the left side under Groups, click Add First Group > Owner
2. Click Add Group > Forecast
Now, when we click on a specific Owner, the grid will populate based on that rep's Forecast.
When we select Michael Anderson, for example, the values adjust to show how many deals Michael Anderson has in each Forecast Category. This particular example is great for inspecting deals before your 1:1 with your rep or manager.
Additional Use Cases
Here are a couple more very common examples of multiple groupings that our customers find useful.
Grouping by Owner & Stage: If Stage is more relevant to you than Forecast in terms of understanding where a deal is at, then it can be very useful to Group by Owner and Stage.
Grouping by Stage & Forecast Category: grouping by Stage and Forecast (or visa versa) is a great way to easily spot if you have any deals with a discrepancy between their Forecast and their Stage (i.e. a deal that's in Commit, but only in Stage 1 of your sales cycle).
