Salesforce Opportunity Team Support in Clari
Overview
Clari’s support of opportunity teams is nuanced. If you have teams that use the Opportunity Team in Salesforce to identify your deals, then this article will walk you through how extensively each of the modules in Clari can support your team at a high level.
Please Note: this article does not apply to teams using a custom owner field in Salesforce and their own Mode in Clari.
Opportunities
The Opportunities Module is the most flexible in terms of what kinds of ownership queries Clari can support. Opportunities fully supports opportunity teams, meaning that individuals/teams who use the opportunity team in Salesforce to identify and find their deals can fully leverage Saved Views, Groups, and Charts. This is because Clari can call for Salesforce to run a query that includes any and all opportunities for which an individual user or a group of users are included on the opportunity team in Salesforce.
Dashboards
Dashboards offer partial support for individuals/teams that use the opportunity team in Salesforce. You can leverage Saved Views that use opportunity team queries to build Dashboards with KPI, Deal Prioritization, Top Deals, and Chart Widgets. While Analytics Widgets (i.e. Pulse, Flow) can be added to Dashboards, you will not be able to use these particular widgets when you drill down with the Scope (i.e. to an individual instead of the larger team).
Forecasting
The Forecasting Module cannot support teams/individuals who use the opportunity team in Salesforce to identify and find their deals. Forecasting requires the opportunity owner or a customer owner field to query for associated opportunities and rollup the total amount closed, related opportunities, and anything else related to actual deals. Because the opportunity team in Salesforce can have multiple people, Forecasting cannot use it to query for associated opportunities.
Analytics
The Analytics Modules do not support teams/individuals who use the opportunity team in Salesforce to identify and find their deals. Analytics also requires the opportunity owner or a custom owner field in order to determine where opportunities belong in each level/segment of the business. Because the opportunity team in Salesforce can have multiple people who may exist in different levels/nodes in your Salesforce hierarchy, the Analytics Modules cannot determine the appropriate level/segment of the business for opportunities.
