Rich Text Field Support
Overview
Rich Text Field support in Clari allows users to read and edit text in the Opportunity Grid with numerous formatting options, including bolds, italics, lists, colors, and more.

Fields with Rich Text Support
Any text area field that is marked as rich text compatible in your CRM will support rich text reading andediting in Clari.
In Salesforce, text areas can be set up to support rich text editing. This option is stored through a particular field property (extraTypeInfo = richtextarea), that Clari uses to distinguish rich text areas from regular text areas. All other fields will not support rich text editing — including text area fields that don’t have this field property option.
Supported Types of Rich Text
Clari supports most types of rich text formatting options that Salesforce does. We match their functionality as closely as possible so as to ensure that there are no syncing issues between Clari and SFDC.
Note: In situations where a type of formatting is marked No for editable, but Yes for readable in the table below, that means that while you cannot directly manipulate that type of formatting from the grid, you will be able to see it display correctly if you copied that content in from another tool (i.e. a Google doc).

When Specific Rich Text Formatting Is Not Supported
If a user tries to copy and paste unsupported rich text formatting into a cell in the Opportunity Grid in Clari, then Clari will ignore the formatting and paste only the raw text.
If a user copies and pastes rich text formatting that is not supported in Clari directly into a field in CRM, and that CRM field is then pulled into Clari, then Clari will return an error in which the raw HTML will be displayed in that field in the Opportunity Grid.
Clari will also display a warning message to the user indicating that they have unsupported HTML content in their CRM. In this scenario, the user will not have rich text editing capabilities in Clari, but this should occur quite rarely considering all of the different types of rich text formatting that Clari does support!
