User Management: Forecast Opt-In
Overview
This article assumes prior knowledge of User Management and User Provisioning. It covers the steps to change a user's configuration in Forecast:
- Reviewing Forecast Settings
- Forecast Settings (Forecast Role, Edit Rights, and Forecast Access)
Reviewing Forecast Settings
You can filter users by their Forecast configuration using the filter at the top of the page.

Note: If you don't see these features, Clari might need to enable Forecast and other attribute fields for your company. Reach out to your CSM for access.
You'll see three columns in the grid area:
- Forecast Access: Lists the Forecast tabs that a given user can access.
- Forecast Role: Indicates whether the user is a manager with reports, an individual contributor, or a viewer of someone else's forecast.
- Edit Rights: Indicates if the user can update their Forecast numbers or their reports' numbers, too

Forecast Settings
To edit one or more user's Forecast Settings:
1. Select one or multiple Registered or Provisioned users in the left side panel.
2. From the Actions menu, select Set Role under Forecast settings (you can also select Remove from Forecasting here to remove the user's access to the forecast).

3. In the pop-up, you can adjust the user's Forecast Role and Edit Rights or remove the user from Forecast. Then, click Next.

4. Select the Forecast Tabs the user should be opted in to. Then, click Save.

Note: If you select multiple users, they will all share the same Forecast configuration, and editing their Forecast settings will override any existing configuration.
For Example
User A is already opted in to the NN Forecast Tab. User B is a newly provisioned Clari user. If you select both users, and edit their Forecast Settings, they will both share the same settings but report up to different users— depending on the role hierarchy setup.
So, if you select Individual Contributor and Overall Forecast, and leave NN Forecast unselected, both users will be configured as individual contributors (no reports) and only have access to Overall Forecast.
If the intention was to add user A to Overall Forecast in addition to NN Forecast and only opt user B into Overall Forecast, this should be done sequentially.
In the pop-up, you'll see three settings:
Forecast Role
A user can either be an Individual Contributor, Forecast Manager, or Viewer.
- Individual Contributor - The user does not have any reports and typically owns opportunities.
- Forecast Manager - The user has reports rolling up their numbers to them and typically does not own opportunities.
- Viewer - The user is not in the Forecast roll-up hierarchy themselves, but they need access to the same Forecast view as another user. This is typically used for sales operations to support executives.
Note: It's a good idea to confirm that a user is set to the appropriate User Role when modifying their Forecast Settings.
For an individual to roll up to the appropriate manager in Forecast, their User Role must also be set appropriately.
For example, a sales rep should be set as an Individual Contributor for their Forecast Settings and a Sales Rep for their User Role.
Managers should also have the appropriate User Role for sales reps to roll up to them in Forecast as expected. A manager should likely be set as a Forecast Manager in their Forecast Settings and a Manager for their User Role.
Edit Rights
There are three different settings for Edit Rights:
- Own - The user can only edit their own forecast calls.
- All - The user can update their own forecast calls and their reports' forecast calls.
- Read-Only - The user cannot update any forecast call.
Forecast Access
Once you've selected the Forecast Role and Edit Rights and click Next, you'll see the screen where you can select the Forecast tabs you want the user to have access to. These tabs will be specific to your Forecast implementation.
