4. Matching Logic Settings (that's this article, read on)
Standard Capture matching logic is usually based on the person assigned to the Account Owner field in Salesforce. But, Clari offers other Alternative Ownership options that help you capture the full interaction with clients/prospects.
Read on for more info on each setting. đź‘€
1. Ownership Criteria
Ownership Criteria settings are pretty much what they sound like—how Clari matches your Capture data from activities to Accounts and Opportunities. Here's how these settings look in Capture:

Account Teams and Opportunity Teams
Instead of matching to a single Account Owner, with account/opportunity teams, Capture considers any member of the account/opportunity team to match ownership.
This setting is disabled by default.
Custom Account Owner and Custom Opportunity Owner
Add a custom owner field as another point of ownership matching when a field other than Account Owner is used to assign ownership in SFDC.
These settings help with any business case in which you want to write activity and create contacts for users other than the 'Account Owner' in CRM (i.e., Account Managers who are assigned in a custom field). Note that users must have their email connected and activity sharing enabled.
2. Tiebreakers
Tiebreakers help when Capture runs into multiple matching accounts/opportunities. They offer additional matching criteria so Capture doesn’t skip logging the activity and creating the contacts. We strongly suggest enabling all tiebreakers. Here's what Tiebreakers look like in Capture:

Account Max Contacts: This is an account-level tiebreaker used to further provide matching points when logging activity and creating contacts. By definition, Capture will Select the account that has the largest number of contacts with a matching email domain.
Updated Opportunity: This is an account-level tiebreaker used to further provide matching points when logging activity and creating contacts. By definition, Capture will select the account that has the opportunity that was most recently updated.
Existing Opportunity Contact Roles: This is an opportunity level tiebreaker used to further provide matching points when logging activity and creating contacts. By definition, Capture will Select the opportunity that has an existing contact role that matches an activity participant.
3. Unique Matches
This setting keeps Clari from making duplicate contacts from identical accounts or opportunities.

Note: We strongly suggest enabling both options for accurate write-back to Salesforce.
Write Back To A Unique Account? Only writes to an account if Clari is certain which account it should be tied to. If there are multiple potential accounts and this setting is ON—Clari will skip.
Write Back To A Unique Opportunity? Only writes to an opportunity if Clari is certain which account it should be tied to. If there are multiple potential accounts and this setting is ON—Clari will skip.
4. Non Ownership Mode
This setting means Capture ignores the need for the Account Owner to be present and simply relies on matching by users communicating with the client domain.

If you do not use a field to assign certain users/roles account/opportunity ownership and would like to expand Capture to these users/roles. Or, you have concerns about how quickly accounts and opportunities are assigned to Sales Reps (Account Owners), and you fear you’re missing contacts and activities as a result of Capture failing on owner matching.
Note: This setting is disabled by default. We strongly encourage enabling each of the following settings if you're using Non Ownership Mode. 👍
MATCHING WITHOUT CONTACTS: When matching, Capture will match to accounts/opportunities even if it can't match to current contacts on the accounts/opportunities.
MAX CONTACTS: This is an account-level tiebreaker. Capture selects the account with the largest number of contacts with a matching email domain.
RECENTLY UPDATED OPPORTUNITY: This is an account-level tiebreaker. Capture selects the account that has the opportunity that was most recently updated.
OPPORTUNITY CONTACT ROLE: This is another account-level tiebreaker. Capture selects the opportunity that has an existing contact role that matches an activity participant.
5. Filters
This Filters setting allows you to include (or not) accounts or opportunities based on:
Account Filters: Include/exclude accounts at various stages of decision-making in matching logic based on values you choose. For example, you might filter by account type, state/region, or account name, etc. (see below):

Opportunity Filters: Include/exclude opportunities at various stages of decision-making based on values you choose. For example, you might filter opportunities by stage or amount (see below).
